Thought I'd play through some of my favourite adventure games again (been a while for some) and at the same time try some new ones.

Along the way I'll do a write up on the game, provde screenies and post my favourite(s) from the lot. In addition to this I will also provide info on what games work on Vista x64 (this is the OS that will be used not the best for what I'm doing but I've lost my Win 2000 CD )

First off, here are the games:

Indiana Jones and infernal machine (played)
Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb (played)
Beyond Good and Evil (played)
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (played)
The Longest Journey (played)
Secret files: Tunguska (played briefly)
Secret Files: Puritas Cordis (not played)
Undercover: Operation Wintersun (not played)
Nikopol (not played)
Broken Sword: all of 'em! (played)
The cameron files (loch ness pharoah's curse) not played
Syberia 1 (played)
Sybiera 2 (not played)

Right, now that's the introduction. I deicded to start off with Indiana Jones and the Infernal machine, upon installing I found no matter what I could not get this to work. However using this site:

http://www.markusegger.at/Software/Games.aspx

I managed to fully install the game, I then installed the 1.2 patch and found it natively suppourts widescreen, not bad for such an old game ;) Upon playing I remembered how bad the default controls really where- might have to have a bit of a play! Will try to make a more detailed report on what I think of the game when I get a chance to play more!

My second game of choice to play through was The Longest Journey. Haven't played this in years! Still one of my favourites! I have the 4disc sold out edition but after a google around I found the Vista patch released is incompatible, I need the DVD edition! I then found it was available through Steam for 5.99 and thank heavens it worked fine Vista.

I'd also like to note that widescreen, high res is not available as the game's art work is pre-rendered at 640x480.

As with Infernal Machine will have a play about as soon as I get the time!

Keep your eyes on this thread!

This is a nice idea man, I love my adventure games. If people are interested in this i'll put up a couple reviews of some different games as well (Read: Drool over 'The Experiment')

I have the 4 disk version installed and playing fine on my Vista PC :)

You also missed the infocom text adventures. You are not a true adventure gamer IMO unless you have played the likes of "Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy" etc. Oh the days of the 8 bit micro!

Lost Crown thats not bad get that - its fairly newish.
