Hi,

Ive got to think of a nice DT project for A level.
I dont have a clue what I want to do at the moment.

It has to have a purpose I'm told. So I came up with the idea of making a HIFI component stand, but then came to the conclusion that would be boring.

So I thought about making a case for a PIII system, filled with oil :) Would be quite good, but then I decided it doesnt really serve a purpose. And would anybody buy it? Lol.

Help please :( :)

Thanks

Don't take on anything too complicated - you'll regret it when the deadline creeps up, keep it simple and you're sorted. Something like a chair, an easel or some sort of wooden computer case would be alright :)

Click my sig mate that was an interesting project :)
V interesting :)

Slightly above my caliber methinks hehe.
I don't particularly want to make a chair or furniture, was thinking to build something a little more exciting :).

What type of DT are you doing?

I'm onto my second year of a Systems & Control A-Level, which is basically electronics, and am making an RC boat from scratch . Sounds like your course is more resistant-materials-ish though.

Yer don't be too ambitious because the work always gets left until right at the end of the deadline.
Numerous people failed in my class because they were far too ambitious and werent prepared to put the hours in.

Do something you want, maybe you can't afford it. Or maybe you haven't found what you want.

This way you will make a good effort and start the work early.

If you do something you wont use, it'll be left till the end.

Maybe something using fibreglass/carbon fibre. You can get some nice shapes from it. The hard bit is making the moulds.
