Hi folks

Last build I did was 10 years ago, and when I get into this next build properley, Im sure Ill have some more questions, but here is my quandry:

A week ago i ordered a 9800X3D with a shipping date of approx Dec 30th.
Last night I ordered a load of PC parts (case, fans, motherboard, ram, AIO, GFX card) thinking I might get to build it.

This morning came the notification the CPU is pushed to 10 January.

So, given a Lian Li 011D EVO RGB Case and an Asus Prime X870-P Wifi motherboard....how far would you and could you take the build process between now and 10 Jan knowing you have no CPU to post with and that you would need to fit it?

Helps!

Personally I would wait for all the parts before building but you could build it all apart from adding the CPU cooler.

My 9800X3D has just arrived and I have left everything boxed until its all here.

I am just waiting on the case now which I cancelled through OCUK and got a different 1 else where.

I was worried about RMA if any of my parts arriving tomorrow are DOA. All the parts (so far) are from OCUK aside from the CPU.

Also itching to build it.

How far can you take a build of an AMD platform in the O11D EVO RGB case before components would prevent you from putting in the CPU?

I already answered that (post 2) you can do everything up to fitting the CPU cooler in fact you could install the radiator if the aio

ironically my issue was fans.

I wanted the Lian Li UNI SL120 INF for by build ( 3 x 3 packs and 1 single fan). None in stock anywhere. Pre-order only.

So i very crossly got the Lian Li UNI FAN TL Wireless 120 last night as, yet again, i cant post a build without any cooling fans. (the AIO I got is fanless and will be taking 3 of these fans)

Im going to build as much as I can before the CPU arrives. It was going to be something me and my son do over Christmas. Damnit.

I'm doing the same...upgrading my CPU/Motherboard and RAM this year.

I bought a new case, fans and an AIO a month ago. I shifted my old PC motherboard and PSU in to the new case and am using the new AIO already. As for the motherboard, CPU and RAM, I won't make any move on those until the CPU's are in stock.

The advantage of creating the build slowly is that it allows me to test the new PC almost part by part.... much better than switching it on and finding it doesn't post and having no clue why.
