Hey guys

Ok yes this is for me genuine questions and I know a lot of you guys are well up with specs and what is good and what is rubbish and it’s always better to ask before buying for people to give opinions and offer help

My current Monitor is an Asus Rog PG278Q

https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/

Now for me sadly space is a premium, my monitor can’t really be over 27/28 inches, or it would be too big for me at the distance I am to the screen id be too close

This is as far as I know a fantastic monitor, I have nVidia 3D Vision 2 and brought this monitor so I could use 3D but mainly it’s for 3D photos and video’s or the occasional film not gaming, but the monitor is a couple of years old now, 3D is slowly dying and I have now upgraded all my PC specs so I’m running an intel i9 10900k and an Asus Rog Strix 3080 OC GPU with 32GB of ram

First question..... is the monitor good enough for the PC?

I want to be able to with high/ultra settings and at 1440p

I suppose I’m trying to justify actually buying another monitor lol

Question 2 is a little more about information I suppose

I’ve seen stretched monitors and they look good, this might be an option, it’s still the same distance to me as my current monitor just bigger length ways, some are curved and some flat?

Are there problems with screen resolutions and ratios? Are there advantages to using a stretched screen and is gaming on them any better?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated guys if I can find out whether I need to replace my current monitor then I can ask about what a good replacement would be
