A mate has a pre built pc purchased from a famous rip off merchant.
2 years down the line the pc could do with a fresh install of windows,now this is were the problem starts.
The pc came with no recovery discs, just advice that he had to make a copy of the partition, something he didn't do and he tells me the pc is well messed up.
My question is when i go round his house if i cant solve the problems,would his pc come with a product code for his pre installed copy of windows xp ?,
If so would it be possible for me to reinstall windows with my retail copy of xp and just acctivate it with his product code ?.
