A little advice please

OK so I have an Asus Hero z97 mobo.....and I think the primary GPU slot may be faulty ..the reason I think it is , is because when I tried to put a GTX 770 card in it I got BSOD...but I'm gonna try a different card ( GTX 760 4ig)at some point..in the next few days...now if I get another BSOD ..what are my options please ?

specs are asus Hero z97, 4790 (non k), xfx 650 PSU .

Tried a different slot? BIOS upto date, reinstall the OS.

Is the BSOD on boot? Does it behave the same if you use the onboard iGPU?

It was on boot yeah...so as soon as i get a chance ...im gonna use a different card...to see if its the card or the mobo ...fingers crossed

Yeah so anyway....I again installed the 770 and it all seems fine now
