This is both for me and a mate, his problem first!
His Minolta 5D has died, and he's keen to get another camera, but can't decide if he should stick with Sony (for ease) or change systems. I believe he should change, but then he hasn't a clue what to go with. Now he's a useless bugger when it comes to spending (tight ass basically) and since I got my 400D I've not looked at bodies at all. He doesn't like the feel of the lower end Canons or Nikons, and he's a bit put off by the seeming slow handling and speed of the lower Sony's. He does quite like the 40D and the D90 however! Any advice or ideas please?
And for me...much simpler... I need a lens to replace the kit lens on my 400D without breaking the bank. Fancy a 50mm F1.8 for starters, but will need some more reach as well. Seen stuff like 35 - 80 's on t'ebay etc. but some guidance would be fantastic!
