In preparation for the new engine which is going to need a fair bit more cooling I've got hold of a couple of carbon fibre air intakes, the same as on the VXT but these are lacquered carbon fibre.

They've taken a fair amount of chopping at the clam to make them fit and aren't secured just yet as there's 4 fixings I want to use with them but the shop that sells them isn't open today.

Here's what they looked like before.

Looks good.

Just a side note; Having black alloys doesn't negate the need for them to ever be cleaned. :p

Looks good and should make a big improvement to the cooling. I saw the chopped up shots on the vx forum and it looks as though the vents go pretty much straight into the engine bay?

I think you could do with a carbon fibre turbo spoiler and carbon fibre hard top to finish it off :)

How are you getting on with the supercharger? What are the plans for the next stages of power?

They should made a significant difference, they were only added to the VXT as Vauxhall were having problems relating to bodywork temperature regulations on the turbo. They open considerably wider than the NA ones, so will allow a lot more air in, which combined with an improved bootlid with larger vents should help. They do look quite nice up close also.

danza - The RS14 pads are so aggressive that nothing really shifts the residue off the wheels that I have pretty much given up!

olv - Still waiting on the pistons for the new engine which won't be ready until the autumn. I've got to fit the chargecooler in the next couple of weeks as it's going to stage 2 (~260bhp) at Courtenays on the 20th June.

If they serve a purpose then great, personally I'd have them painted rather than draw attention to them though.

Look good. Nice to hear the VX is going as planned aswell. Need some videos of the supercharger whine though.

They might look out of place because we're specifically looking for them.

I can't remember noticing them when I saw Sam's VX220 Turbo.
