Hello OC community!

First off, ace community. Ive been following theese forums for a couple of months now and I am really impressed how you help people out etc. I could spend more time watching discussions on this site, than gaming :) Thumbs up!
Im starting a computing degree this September and im willing to buy (build) a new PC asap, my beloved Laptop has finally given up after 5 years. So heres what im looking for:

- Budget £600 (atm.)
- Gamer /Work machine
- Without monitor
- Up to scratch for the next gen. of games

Following the other threads, ive tried my best to get the best build for the price. I must admit, Its not easy to get down to £600 if your looking for a descent machine. I was thinking of purchasing the GFX card next month (Sept.), because then I will have a couple of pounds more available for that.

So far, this is what Ive worked out:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155
Processor
£169.99
MB: Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67
£139.98
FAN: Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler
£23.99
CASE: Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black
£66.98
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9)
£59.99
PW: BeQuiet Pure Power L7 530W '80 Plus' Power Supply
£45.98
OD:Samsung
SH-S222AB/BEBE22xDVD±RW £16.99
HDD: Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ)
£32.99

Sub Total : £464.08
Shipping : £12.50
VAT : £95.32
Total (Without GFX card) : £571.90

The GFX card that Im looking at is the:
Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
£179.99

..that I would then get next month because it just explodes the Budget to £753 atm. Could you recommend me this hardware to be fully compatible? Do you agree with my choice, any suggestions? Please help! :)

Thanks, Svenson.

if you want to get the 560Ti and a decent PC in the £600 area, this is what ive come up with:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti Twin FrozR II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £173.99
1 x MSI P67A-GD53 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION ** £107.99
1 x Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Antec TruePower New Modular 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £71.99
1 x Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black £66.98
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500413AS) £28.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £23.99
1 x Samsung SH-S222AL/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - OEM £15.98
Total : £594.90 (includes shipping : £12.50).

ready for an i5 2500k upgrade and a second 560Ti.

however, if you want the i5 2500k, 8GB RAM and a really good motherboard and are happy to not be able to play games until you get your graphics card* then something like this would probably be best:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £169.99
1 x MSI Z68A-GD65-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £159.98
1 x Antec TruePower New Modular 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £71.99
1 x Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black £66.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £53.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500413AS) £28.99
1 x Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £23.99
1 x Samsung SH-S222AL/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - OEM £15.98
Total : £606.90 (includes shipping : £12.50).

i would also go for the MSI twin Frozr version of the 560Ti because it has a better cooler and is slightly cheaper.

also, dont buy windows 7 until your at university because its very likely that you will be able to get Win7pro for free because you are doing a computing degree. if not you will still be able to get home premium for ~£40 at the most with a student discount
