Hi
I built a system a few years ago now the specs are as follows:
Phenom II x3 720 BE 2.8ghz
Asus M4A785TD-V EVO
Geil 4gb ddr3 ram which i think is 13333 mhz

I have had this sitting at 3.5ghz with the 4 core unlocked at stock volts pretty much every since i have had it with temps never above 50c full load. As the system is getting on now I would like to see how far I can push the overclock but every time I touch any voltage control the system refuses to boot meaning I have to reset the cmos.
Being honest I Don't fully understand the CPU over Voltage option even the smallest change results in the system not booting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

What frequency are you running per core?
and what multiplier are you using? try 16x and up the voltage to around 1.5/1.6
if you have 4 cores running it should handle that no problem.

with 4 cores i reckon you could hit 3.8ghz but like the guy above said i would leave it at 3.5 my Phenom II x4 955 comes at 3.2 standard. i have it running at 4Ghz and thats pretty much all it can handle on air.

Dude, he is running a tri core unlocked to a quad core...

He won't be able to overclock it that much due to the core being unlocked.

Leave it at 3.5ghz... thats more than enough juice to run any game you throw at it
