A little help please someone!

Hi all,

Having had the same P4 3.06ghz for the last 4 years and working away. Finally i've returned home and want a new main PC.

Basically all i need is a new Motherboard, CPU, Ram, and with any luck a 19" monitor

I've got about £380 to spend, but have no clue what sort of technology is better atm, ie core 2 duo - i don't know the first thing about after not being on the comp as much as i have been before! :)

What setup are people recommending at the moment, AMD, or Intel?

I'm looking to play HL2 with a few source mods, BF2 (still love that game lol) possibly cod4 aswell. I do a bit of audio & video editing, and picture editing sometimes but not a massive amount.

Apart from the few games, just the usual other stuff, office etc
 
Although you say you only need a few parts I think after 4 years you will need basically a whole new system, I certainly do after the same length of time.

Thanks for the reply,

Things like graphics, and HDD i've got sorted (Already got a 320gb seagate drive) and just spent a couple hundred on an 8800GTS. things like dvd-rw etc are all sorted, which i've either got from before, or will get later on, the main accessories i already have, I'm just looking at the core system atm.

Thanks for that one though semi-pro- definately an option on the first one
