Is there much difference between a 7800gs and the 7600gs ? Would i see any more benifit in gaming between the too cards ?

I dont have an uber power supply, i have a 3ghz p4 (486skt), Asus p4s800 mobo, 3x512 sticks of drr400 ram and currently a geforce 6200 or somthing

I tried a msi 6800gt of my freinds and that was pretty good upgrade for the old eye candy.... just wondering how far i can go ?

Cheers

Hi,

Have a look here:

You'll see the main difference in your wallet not on your screen. IMO, get a 7600GT, unless you can afford the Sapphire x1950Pro 512Mb. Its simply the fastest AGP card(and cheaper than 7800 series). I'm assuming its an AGP based system, yes? Don't worry too much about your CPU either, it should be fine. Make sure your PSU is rated at 28a on the +12V rail too. If it doesn't work, you can return the card within 7 days under the distance selling act. I had a 7600gs for a short while, and it is a very good card for the money, If you want to save some cash for another component(s).
