I currently have the following spec PC that I built back in 2005. I have not built another system since.

Thermaltake Tai Chi watercooled case.
AMD skt 939 3800+
2GB Corsair PC3500 xms pro
Nvidia 6800GT
Windows 7 RTM (waiting to upgrade to home premium retail)

The only game I really play is Day of defeat Source. My PC used to play this game fine but recently it has been struggling. I have to play with most things on low settings and still whenever there is any smoke or a lot of gun fire the game judders and really struggles.

What I thought about doing is buying a new system from OCUK but them I thought about just buying an overclocked bundle, PSU and Graphics card and using my existing case, minus the water cooling.
I was wondering if everything would fit in as I have lost touch with everything recently.

I just want to be able to play this game easily without and juddering.

What would suggest please.

Shouldn't make that much of a difference, (physically) clean the system out and it should help a little, do the general defrag of the hard drive and deleting old files as well

If it's still dodgy then look into a new computer :p

An 8xxx series gpu would be a big upgrade at a cheap price (<£50) but card would be held back by your cpu even if it was highly overclocked:(
