Hey Guys/Gals

I'm looking to buy a 22 inch monitor from overclockers i was just wondering if someone could tell me if the particular monitor i want has a hdmi slot?
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-058-IY&tool=3

It's only £107 pound so looks like a bargain, however when searching the internet i could not find out if it does/doesn't have a hdmi slot.Hopefully someone here on the forums has purchased on before or perhaps a don could inform me.
The reason for me needing a hdmi slot is because my on-board sound doesn't work and so i currently rely on the sound through the monitor/tv.
I need to buy a sound card but tbh i don't really fancy forking out for one just yet.

Thanks in advance

Both of the 22in £108 monitors on OCUK use DVI inputs so can't do sound via HDMI.

If you want to get sound from HDMI then going just by monitors on OCUK, this is your best bet.

Hey thanks for the link, nice wee monitor and only a few quid more then the one i was looking at. Might consider buying this tomorrow after work :)

Does that monitor have speakers built into it though? It's only going to give you sound via HDMI if it has speakers.

Edit*

Just seen this review:

I've got to admit at the price I was beginning to think I'd dropped a clanger ordering this. But wow, straight from the box it produced excellent results. Images are clear with plenty of detail, colours are vibrant without washing out. I'd gladly have paid another £100 for the results. Bang per buck surely the best upgrade. Running DVI with HDMI from cable box.
Only thing that lets it down is the internal speakers, but who's gonna be using them. :)

You should really consider getting a cheap pair of speakers at around 20 quid and stick to getting the monitor at £108. What's wrong with the soundcard you have, surely the motherboard has onboard audio?

+1 to what you say Buchanan - the reason I mentioned that monitor was because it does HDMI sound pass-through to 3.5mm stereo audio-out port - so the OP can run some stereo speakers off the monitor without needing to fix the onboard sound or buy a sound card.

As you mention, using the onboard speakers isn't a good idea - they are tiny (2W each) and low quality, so not even comparable to TV onboard speakers.

Basically, if you don't already have some - buy some separate speakers. Even a cheap but decent set like this would be much better than the in-built ones.
