a little help please?

I know very little about networks, only the basics really, but over the past couple of days in my computing class my friends and I have been trying to set up a network between two computers and a switch in between, and I was wondering whether something like this would let me take an ethernet cable from my router and let both my pc and ps3 connect to the internet through it?
