Everytime I run BC2 or, say, something like Prime95 (But not Heaven or the likes, least I think) I begin to hear this not loud, but audible white pitched noise.

When I stop playing BC2 or stop Prime test, the noise stops

Is it coming out of the GFX card ? Is it bad ?

Thanks

Is it a noise coming out of the speakers?

Sounds like it may be a fan touching something. I suggest you take out all your fans, clear some dust, then put them all back making sure all cables are out of the way.

It could be that your gfx card fan is touching the shroud in which case you can just try moving it a bit.

I get the same static like noise from my 460 under heavy loads. Doesn't seem to bother the card so doesn't bother me.

Edit: I get it under GPU intensive applications. If you get it under Prime I don't imagine it's graphics card related.

Sounds like it would be cap squeel, I guess from a cap on the motherboard or possibly the PSU if it's during CPU intensive things like Prime which shouldn't stress out the GPU at all.

Not the speakers.

Nothing touching the fans, nothing touching the GFX.

About cap squeal: Is it bad then ? Should I replace the PSU or something

Edit: Ran Kombustor and no noise. So perhaps it isnt the GFX.

If its the power supply making the noise, should I be concerned or something ?

no. It'll be your PSU or mobo. Try and determine which one and you may be able to RMA. Depends on the brand and what they determine is an acceptable amount of cap squeel

Why RMA though ? Is it something that's not meant to happen or something ? Becuase I have no problems at all with the PC, cept the noise could be a bit quieter during BC2 or w/e

well it's an imperfection. Put it this way, if your gfx card was constantly at 100% fan for some reason, then you would RMA even though it is working perfectly
