A little thing for us Mac users!

Great ads.

Although this was probabally posted here I'll say it anyway, on the other apple advert about the intel chips (in the lab) the UK advert was toned down compared to the US ad. The US ad was basically slating PCs and said words to the effect of "PCs are dull and uninteresting and macs are the best", but the UK one completely cut out that message; so i'm not entirely sure that these exact ads will air in the UK :( , but i am probabally wrong completely.

i found the one about drivers (the box one? or the one with the girl, not sure now) quite funny. as it's very true... as long as you buy the correct hardware. and woe betide you buy a product that won't work with your mac, as apple will hang you out to dry.

saying that microsoft aren't much better.

long live open source. now if only that wasn't so pants.

*awaits flamefest*

only joking around kids... i hate/love all operating systems equally. honest.

edit: and in "better" they kinda admit that windows is better for serious stuff. which is also kinda funny. i'm not saying it is, i'm just saying that's why they imply. and macs are good at "lifestyle stuff" like photo manipulation etc. ermm... not quite sure i believe that but nm.

I use mine when I work at home for 'serious' stuff. I use Vectorworks for CAD, including 3d models, Excel spreadsheets for engineering calculations, 3d frame analysis using DrFrame 3D, Filemaker database for projects, business management and invoicing and Pages for reports and general business correspondence. I would highly recommend a Mac for any small business as from my own experience the overall cost of ownership is lower especially if you factor in the reliability and virus/spyware free environment. In fact, apart from music I rarely use my Mac for any of the so called cool 'lifestyle' things. :)

I asked a mate and he said she just says "who?" which doesn't seem to be that amusing.

The one with the Japanese lass/camera is saying....

"Ne ne ne, dare are (so???). Otakupokunai", which roughly translates as
"Hey, who's that? Isn't he geeky/nerdy looking?"

Out of the three new ones, the boxes was is quite amusing.

Ah right i see.

MAC
"Hello, I'm a Mac WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

PC
"And I'm a PC - what was that"??

MAC
"Sorry, that's my processor whine WHEEEEEEEEEEE. I'll just turn it off by inconveniently running a small app"

PC
"Oh right, I don't seem to do that, but have heard lots of Mac's do it for some reason"

MAC
"There ya go - all gone MOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

PC
"What on earth was that"???

MAC
"Are yeah - not sure exactly what that is yet, but it's something some of us Mac's do"

PC
"Oh right, interesting - your looking a little off colour there Mac"

MAC
"Oh, that's just where I turn yellow for some reason after a while...
...uh oh, hang on....I've overheated"

;)

I love Mac's by the way - so want to invest in one, but totally put off by what sound like far too common problems with the new Intel Macs. :(

Just overly fussy geeks who enjoy whining. The only Macs that have 'overheated' are the ones with the plastic still on the vents (about 0.1% of them), they rest are just a little warm. As for noises, they're still much much quieter than any PC i've used.

Agreed, I sometimes wonder if my Mac is actually on. When I first got it I had a heart stopping moment because I thought it was a dead 'un as it was absolutey silent on start up. The fans will speed up under very heavy load but that applies to any computer. :D
