A little upgrade advice would be appreciated!

I only really use my PC to play games now, and currently trying to enjoy playing Stalker 2. I'm running an old 3950X on a ROG Crosshair Hero VIII with a 2080ti and an LG monitor @ 3840 x 1600 120hz I intend to upgrade everything with a move to AM5 and probably a 9800X3D or similiar, with an RTX5800, but I don't want to do it all at once if I can avoid it.

If I upgrade the GPU to the 5800 first, once it's available, will my current system be enough to get some worthwhile performance out of it for a couple of months until I upgrade the CPU, Mobo and RAM?

Would I be better off doing it the other way round and replacing the CPU e.t.c first?

Thanks.

That game is a hog.

No way would I upgrade a PC to play that game,it's a buggy unstable inefficient mess.
