A little WoW help pls

the blizzard uploader has updated this week, and the repair tool didnt work but now it does but guess what still cant log on, pls advise me what i can do, and no getting a non wow life isnt an option.

The repair tool now fixes the problem but now cant store the fixed data,

any ideas??

im not sure how to fix your problem, however i would suggest posting on the blizzard forums, as one of their techies may know how to fix it.

Actually a fair point

excessive hours spent on wow is less time for you and the baby

, but if u dont play it too much, then i apologise

however most people DO play wow too much

Lets not turn this into another ex-addicts movement against all things WoW, im sure hes quite aware of his baby and real life.

As for the problem, I had this on patch day also, my only way around it was a fresh install im afraid, downloading the patches again from scratch. Make sure you install 2.0.1 in the proper way also if you download them from an ftp site or whatever, maybe best just to let the background downloader do its thing for a few hours. It tends to work well and at full speeds when theres not a patch just been released!

Actually to be helpful,

My mate messaged me with a problem on his , for the latest patch, so i just gave him a link for a direct download, without blizzard.

i think it musta worked cos i aint heard back.

try and get the file else where.

I'm afraid that when WoW fudges itself like this the only option is often to just reinstall with a fresh download of the patches.

thanks for the helpful remarks, still not working and a fresh install will happen tonight after work, as for those saying spend more time with my son, i only play when he sleeps and as he's only 11 months, so thats a lot! thank you for your friendly but not very helpful advice.

Ahh, that old "you play WoW so you must be addicted" chestnut. Funny how no one assumes if you drink you must be an alcoholic.

Anyway, as has been mentioned I would avoid the blizz downloader completely. I get all my patches from fileplanet, i'm just a member so no subs. You may have to wait 20 mins for it to start but at least you'll have it soon after that rather than the 3 days the blizz thing takes. If you're considering a re-install there will be a big patch containing all the patches up to present that you can DL, usually about 450mb, although i'm not sure the last one of these had the patch to 2.01 included.

Just from the error message, and I may be wrong, it looks like you don't have permission to write the files. A daft question but are you logged on as a local admin?
