a lot of fan noise

Hi guys,hope this is in the correct section.

My friend brought a complete system from ocuk, I think it was a "Titan Nero" AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 245 2.90GHz DDR3 System.A few days ago they got infected pretty badly buy viruses.I have formatted the machine reinstalled windows,drivers etc but the problem I have is that before the format the system was almost silent,but now its is quite noisy.Do ocuk install some software that controls the speed of the fans to keep the noise down?

Graphics drivers definatly installed? What about chipset?

Yep chipset drivers installed from the gigabyte cd that came with it.I downloaded ati 10.6 drivers and control panel package and installed.

Not sure what ocuk install but things like Speedfan for CPU and case fans and maybe MSI afterburner to adjust the graphics card fan profile.

Motherboard makers have their own monitoring and adjustment software. My mobo is Gigabyte and their Easytune software allows slowing and speeding of fans dependent on temperatures.

When they last had the system running I do not remember seeing either a shortcut on the desktop all in the system tray for Easytune,so I am at a bit of a loss.

Without software or BIOS intervention all fans will run at max speed, so there must have been something telling them to slow down. Might not be Easytune, even if it is a Gigabyte motherboard.

Have you been able to determine if it's one fan or all of them that are making the noise. It may be a rogue fan that needs adjustment via software, or mabe the graphics fan.

Due to the fact that the system is not mine,I am not 100% sure which fan it is that is causing all the noise.In my own system I use a hardware fan controller to control fan noise so I am not that clued up on software fan monitoring.

In the BIOS there is usually an option to have the fans at 100% all the time or have them automatically ajust to system temps. It might have changed if you reset it or the virus did something?

I have not touched the bios,only formatted the system,but I will go in and have a look and make sure that something has not been changed.
