A Mac accessing a Windows share question...

Hey,

Is it normal for a Mac to "ignore" the sharing permissions set on a Windows share and just "obey" the file security permissions?

I can not see how Windows would let it do this, I'm confused!

the client has no choice it can only do what windows will allow it to do... (assuming its not exploiting some bug in windows, but as we know there are no bugs in windows)

maybe you are confused over the exact perissions?

I need to get hold of the Mac and look. If it was using the mac services instead maybe...?

As you say, doesn't make sense. I've basically found a share where the share permissions are specific users but file permissions has been left to everyone! No confusion there.
