A Mario Sunshine question..

I doubt many people will read this lol, but anyway...

I opened a level on this game last night, It was on a seafront, and there was a big egg of some sort ontop of a tower, there was 4 mirrors shining on it. and a professor said it is due to hatch sometime soon...

i ran up and down the level countless times, managed to get up to the egg, but it had a forcefield round it.

I couldnt do ANYTHING on this level and i had to leave it.

When i have more shines does it hatch or something? i currently have only 7 shines i believe.

I was really frustrated

Maybe a power generator inside the building? Bare in mind it's been a good few years since I played.

the building didnt seem to have a door

it was a level where ya spray water on these plants onthe beach and they do wierd things like blow up into mounds of sand etc.

Im gonna have to scramble my brain some more when i get back to my gfs

If you are only on the first mission of Gelato Beach - Dune Bud Sand Castle, then you have to leave the sandbird egg alone, and find and spray the Dune Bud on the beach that reveals a sandcastle with a 'retro level' to get the first Shine.

Don't know where you got the power generator idea ... not one anywhere in Mario Sunshine... the egg will hatch and you get a 'Sand Bird' level later on around mission 5 of Gelato Beach, once you've dealt with the Wriggler that later curls up on the egg and had to play with the mirrors!

[I'm a big Mario Sunshine fan - it was the game I bought a gamecube to play ... cracking variety of stuff in it!]

thats great thanks. I thought id sprayed them all!, thing is i always spray em up close and i get launched into the air, then it disappears soon after, maybe i done it, but didnt notice

really appreciate the effort to answer dude, didnt expect a reply this fast

You'll notice it, as it's sand shape springs up elsewhere on the map and the camera will turn to show you it springing up, and it has a large red arrow to tell you to walk into it!

Ah right, i mustnt have sprayed that one then

ill have to make my way along spraying each one i see! , hopefully avoiding them pesky ramming baddies

I really like this game, i always love the challenge of getting the blue coins on the levels, there is supposedly red coins too, but i aint seen em yet

There are red coins, but it'll be for a specific mission to collect them, they don't just lie around all the time.

Mario Sunshine Guide

It's extreamly detailed and easy to follow. It helped me a while back to find the rest of the blue coins allowing me to get all the shines.

I don't know, I was thinking of the level with the hotel. One of the missions had lots of stingrays I think.

Maybe I should play it again.

The stingrays is the first mission on Sirena Beach, when the hotel has vanished.

Think I might just have to go start playing SMS again myself....!
