I'm watching Watchdog on BBC and the rogue trader section has a mechanic on. He's a big fat mess of a man who is so unbelievable. You will see the end part of their setup on him in about 5 mins, try and see it on iplayer or similar later.

They unplugged a lambda sensor and put a duff fuse in a mini for the abs light to come on..

The guy has patronised the girl in the setup and proceeded to charge in excess of 500 so far.

Hope no one has ever called this guy out!

He's far from the exception unfortunately - its a real shame as a good, honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold....well maybe not if they weigh what this guy does!

Yeah I agree.

This guy has actually shocked me. He's such a creep too. And a sexist moron.

Its hard to tell if the guy is just a scammer or is genuinely incompetent too - his work could kill someone.

This is stuff id have done myself quite easily and im far from a mechanic

I think he truly believes he's doing the right thing, and his diagnostic techniques are robust.

Made me laugh at the end when he said "In three years I have never seen a fuse cause a vehicle to stop charging."

Wow, three years experience!

I watched it and looked at him in disgust and that was even before he looked at any cars.

Sounds like a pervert to, the fat horrible sweaty stinky barstool.

Couldn't believe some of the comments he was coming out with as if it was normal banter.. and the prices, wow.
Disgusting guy

Not seen it, but I'll try and grab it on iPlayer if some one has got a link?

I'm very thankful I know a mechanic and garage in Woking that will literally bend over backwards to help with anything and everything, really friendly, honest and skilled place.

Same, i have a Nobel/engine specialist who is my mrs's brother-in-law, cost me beers. If he's busy i take it to my very good friend who is the top volvo specialist who charges me next to nothing. If he is busy i have a friend who runs a MOT station who is good with cars.

Getting my cambelt/water pump and tensioners etc done next month. Prob cost me no more than £30 :)
