A Mobo/CPU question

Sorry if this has been asked several times before.

I'm looking at building a new machine and this is all new to me...go easy on me

Is it still worth looking at 1155 Ivy Bridge or is it getting old/is old now and I should really be saving for the 1150?

Ideally, with it being my first build I'm looking to keep costs down. It'll be used for gaming mostly and maybe a little OCing.

Any advice is appreciated.

Feel free to suggest a >£100 motherboard...
