I'm on my third Performance MX and about to get it replaced for a fourth, but I'm done with this mouse. The scroll wheel either gets jammed or spins freely without registering. The first mouse lasted a year, the second six months and the third two months. Logitech has replaced it each time without any hassle and their support is great, but the product sucks.
I actually like the mouse but it's just not durable enough. I looked at the Logitech G700 but it seems to be pretty much the same mouse with more buttons and a quick Google suggests that it does indeed suffer from the same problems. I've been using Logitech mice by default for about 13 years so I really have no idea about the competition (my previous Logitech mice all lasted years which secured my loyalty until now).
I guess what I want is wireless + decent for games + battery lasts a couple of days. All the ~£100 mice seem to have their issues (and terrible support) and so I was thinking of maybe just getting a Sidewinder X8 but apparently it has that light hollow plasticy feel that Microsoft mice have always had.
Why isn't there just a solid durable wireless gaming mouse like the old G7?
PS. I know the mouse maybe just needs to be cleaned but to do that you need to scrape the feet off to access the screws. When I asked Logitech for replacement feet they offered to just send me a new mouse instead which I of course agreed to. Why would this mouse gunk up so quickly anyway?
