Im looking to purchase a mouse for my macbook pro (arriving soon).

I dont plan to use the mouse all the time, only when im doing design work. When im surfing the net, playing media etc.. im happy to use the trackpad.

Ive looked at the mice currently on the market and the two that have drawn my eye are the logitech vx revolution, mx revolution, vx nano and the MS mobile memory mouse 8000.

There are a few factors involved in my choice. It would be ideal to have bluetooth so i dont need a receiver. Ive never had my own laptop and therefore havent any experience with complications of having a stick jutting out of the side. Is it a hassle? is it worth choosing a mouse for its bluetooth ability over the mouse's actual features.

I like the idea of having on the fly zoom or magnifier, and definitely need forward and back buttons on the side.

The special scroll flywheel on the logitechs are a major attraction on paper, but do people really use it or is it just novelty?

The vx nano seemed to be a good choice at first, tiny receiver which can be connected 24/7, flywheel, aesthetically pleasing, BUT as it is to be a work mouse i will spend many hours with it and have heard that its mini size gets uncomfortable very fast.

The mx revolution sounds good in all respects but the receiver size deters me. i dont want to have to purchase new receivers. im not the most careful person so it can easily be snapped off. my gf used to have a belkin usb wifi dongle and that had to be replaced 3-4 times after numerous breaks. also is it suitable for portable use?

the vx revolution sounds like an all rounder and is top of my list so far. its moderately sized, mid sized receiver (when comparing vx nano and mx rev). although the receiver thing still bugs me.

the ms mobile memory mouse has a bluetooth mode so NO receiver, which attracts me a lot. ive never had a ms mouse so cant make any comments on performance.

can anybody help me in my decision making?

any help would be ideal, experiences, opinions etc.. GOOD and BAD.

thanks :)

oh, i forgot to say any recommendations would be nice!

ok, i finally decided to go for the vx revolution. medium size, range of features, storage for receiver, not too many buttons. also a bargain purchase of £28!
