For about the last month or so i have been getting the pop up bobble on my taskbar popping up saying that 'A Network Cable Is unplugged' at random times, could go a few days without doing it, then would do it 2 or 3 times in one day etc! I original though it was a duff ethernet cable but replaced that on monday and all was well until yesterday when it popped up again on the taskbar. I have now narrowed it down to my router, a Linksys WRT54G Ver4 which is running the tomato firware. When this problem occurs ive now noticed the power light on the router constantly flashes, what would cause this to happen?? Im not using the provided adaptor that came with the router as it developed an annoying buzzing sound, so got a radioshack multi voltage adaptor which is set to the correct voltage, 12v! Any suggestions?

I would say im 99% sure its not any of the enthernet cables because it will do it when im not anywhere near the PC, so nothing's getting knocked or touched, plus i have wiggled all the enthernet cables connected to the router and it doesnt reproduce the problem.
The power light doesnt really 'flicker' as such though, it flashes systematically at quick regular intervals, so its not like the power light is flash becuase theres a break in the wire or poor connection otherwise the light would flash irregularly which it doesnt
