Hey all, looking to build a system for my girlfriend who will mainly be using it for photoshop & flash work (and probably some viva pinata on the side).

Ideally should be close to the £500 mark, only peripheral needed is a keyboard.

This is what I've currently got in mind, but is rather over budget so any help would be great :)

That LEPA stulid found is the better of the two offerings, imho. I'm not sure why you would drop £18 quid on a Freezer 7 Pro, either. The bundled cooler with the sandy cpu is fairly close and comes free of charge. I would also recommend going with a gt430 card instead of a gt520. :)

Knew I could count on you guys to shave the price down.

I've dropped the solid state due to:
a) I don't think she'll notice the difference in speed
& b) she has a nasty habit of dumping everything on one drive so she'll fill it in a week anyway xD

A SSD is a cracking upgrade to make, but it does require careful managing at the moment in terms of writes to the drive. Things like page files, Photoshop scratch space, defrag service and indexing can quickly reduce its usable lifespan by quite a bit. You may well be able to set it all up a treat, but the question is, will she keep a watchful eye on it? ;)

I could, what would be the benefits?

More room inside, easier to work with and upgrade in, plus you get much improved airflow. Having said that, 370 is not something I would stick on a small PC desk pedestal. It is quite a chunkster. :D (it's my secondary case for a home server, so I'm speaking from first hand experience here)

Yes, with a 360 the PSU fan will act as an intake dumping any heat from the unit into the case to be expelled by the smaller exhaust fan(s), if any. It is a space saving measure and helps to push some air. Actually, judging from screenshot number 5 for it, it may be directed outwards, but it will be pushing the air into the front bezel. This will expel some air out of the case and some will be recycled back into it. Odd airflow, but I'm sure it will be serviceable - none of the components you are putting into the case are that much of a heat source. :)

No it doesnt.

The PSU is fitted so the PSU fan takes air from the side panel and then dumps it out the front of the case, it doesn't go into the component area.

You've won me over - 370 it is! Thanks for the input guys.

It can go next to the desk I'm sure - the desk is very small and will have a monitor, keyboard, mouse and cintiq on it so even the smallest case will probably struggle to fit.

Also remembered I've got a 5% off voucher to use, and free shipping - so £504ish. I love OCUK :D
