Hi,

I have put together the ingredients based on experience of component quality and my budget.

( I nervously bought an Acer, [only cos I had no computer and internet to research] 3rd Dec. It stopped working 2nd Jan, engineer replaced psu today, it broke again when he switched it on, I want a refund and build my own, me last one lasted 4 years)

Really, I need to be absolutely sure that it is all compatible and two questions are;

Are there any recommendations for heatsink gunge, or is the stuff that comes with the processor acceptable?

Could I run games like the latest Unreal, Far Cry, Call of Duty 4 etc using the gear below?

Whats your budget? What does this come to?
First thing straight off is youve got no OS or optical drive in there
Also youre gonna be better off getting 2x2gig RAM rather than 4x1, that way you'll have the option of adding more later

thanks,

my budget is 390, i already have an os and optical drive,

that lot comes to 463 delivered.

I take your point about getting one 4gig, thanks, i will see if i can source that.

I just spent a similar amount, maybe slightly more
