a new card help

not sure if the 650w will be enough for a 5850 xfire, I have basically same spec as you(q6600, 4gb ram, 5850, 620w corsair) and thinking about a 2nd 5850(have a 850w psu I can use I went xfire) as have just upgraded to u2711 monitor tho may just wait out for the new cards.

Even if it's Seasonic (brilliant brand, one of the top) I don't think it can handle two 5850s in crossfire. I think it would be worth your money if you was to wait for the next gen cards.

would have thought there would be plenty of juice seeing as high spec psu that aint good new then any news on newer cards coming out ?? any links

thought u guys where good ?

Your PSU is not suitable for 5850 xfire. If you had stated this at the start you could have saved loads of time. If your Q6600 is stock it will bottleneck anyway

I have two 5850 in crossfire, one sapphire extreme and one bog standard powercolour.
I have an i7 2600k at 4.6ghz i have noticed a huge boost in performance i can enable aa at 1920x1080 and enjoy games at there fullest, also it performs slightly better than a 580 for the extra £110 pound, instead of £300+

combine with overclocking it will beat a 580 by a nice margin, and should cope with bf3 at high from my guesstimation.

I have an xfx 750w (rebranded seasonic) and it copes fine no problem even with cpu overclock.

your cpu might bottleneck if you have it at stock speeds.

Overall i am happy its just the space which is annoying i have had to take out my asus essence stx and box it as there is no room, but that is due to my huge cpu cooler. also make sure your psu has 4x 6pin and a good ampage.
