A New Monitor

When I built my first computer, I never got round to buying a monitor. Instead, I used my old TV which is a HD 720p 21" thing from Toshiba. I got it free with a contract phone so I'm sure you can imagine it's quality already. However, I've got a problem. I know NOTHING about monitor's. LCD/LED blah blah blah. I'm lost. Can someone help me? I don't want anything bigger than 21" or else it may not fit on my PC desk. I also don't want to spend over £150 if possible.

21" is going to suck massively, sorry but that's about it.

There are only two monitors that are 21" at OcUK and they are so naff that they are analog VGA input only.

Get a bigger desk.

Edit, some 22/23" monitors have very slim bezels and may not be that much bigger than what you think your desk can handle.

measure your Height and Width off the TV, sure you could find a Monitor 24 inch's etc to match it even If you have a bit off overhanging the desktop could you get away with it!

I've had a 23 inch, 24 inch and a 27 inch

I think 24 is the sweetspot, 23 text feels too small, 27 text looks huge and ****.

Can anyone help me understand the difference between them? I've looked all over and there are some with DVI/VGA or DVI/HDMI and LCD/LED or HD. I'm completely lost.

I took measurements of my entire television and whilst doing so, I was able to find the model number.

Model Number: Toshiba 22kv500b

Take a look for yourself. It's not a great television.
