A new pet hate....

Too many people don't seem to understand that how you word things will affect how people will perceive it and often, intentionally or not, pass their opinion off as fact. There are three on this very forum who instantly spring mind, I'll let imaginations run on their identities but I can't see many people being surprised if I name them.

Once you learn who they are and file their posts under "drivel" it goes a long way to sorting the wheat from the chaff.

You can be my wife if you want
I thought I was the only one that used the phrase "sort the wheat from the chaff"!

It's obviously written in the stars my good man ;)

Just to stay on topic.

My pet hate is people not using "effect" and "affect" correctly in sentences....

Really boils my blood that one!

I brought a dictionary just to learn this, but then discovered that that pacific page is missing

Waiting for my wife today, sat in the car in her car park, guy pulls up next to me and parks, engine running. Windows open, so not doing it for AC or heater purposes, just too thick to understand that there are other people around him, that he's wasting money and causing unnecessary noise pollution and CO2 emissions.

The rest of the post was me stereotyping these people as either aggressive or stupid, although these tend to go hand in hand.

The worst is tour coaches. Running a 10l straight 6 diesel engine to keep is one person warm is just stupid.
Ah, I'd thought you meant when they leave the engine running at lights or something :D

I agree with you in your context though!
