A note about overclockers customer service...

Sounds to me like you made a mistake redeeming the code. Also sounds like you have a spare code now. The customer service here is one of the reasons I and many others have spent thousands. Next time, read the email explaining how to redeem the code.

OCUK did give you another code though, I can't think of anyone off hand that would have, that to me is very good CS.

you think its good customer service to advertise a product, provide 2 faulty products then shrug and say 'cant help you'??

Go buy an Xbox live code from Game, tell them it didn't work, let me know how far you get (You won't get far at all, they'll almost flat out say you're lying)

Bar giving you more codes, what could OCUK have done? They told you to go to Nvidia (Who have the codes) and Nvidia ultimately sorted your problem.

Well seems very strange and since they gave you two codes (which did not unfortunately work for you) and then advised to get I touch with Nvidia whom are the actual suppliers of the codes which resolved the issue. This could have just Ben a glitch on NV side as I have had a few codes from OCUK and have always worked sorry to hear you found the CS nt acceptable personally I have only but had great service from them.

I got the codes recently (from OcUK) with my 780 and it was quite clear then that you had to redeem them on the nVidia website, though the form on the website itself was a bit unintuitive and looks like the code has failed when its actually completed :S

Unless its changed this is what it says:

Thank you for purchasing a qualifying Nvidia product, your code is now ready.

You can view your code in your order history or by following this link:

To get your game visit http://www.geforce.com/pirates

Best Regards,

Overclockers UK

EDIT: I guess if they just sent you a code without the email then it wouldn't be so clear where you had to redeem it.

Yup, it will be that or It will be down to the fact he had to add the games to his cart in uplay and then add the promo codes at checkout. This was in the email, that he undoubtedly ignored/didn't read/couldn't understand.

If you think you have been treated badly my friend. I suggest next time, order from one of OCUK's competitors and see how you get on.

You put the codes in the Nvidia website first...

We sent you two codes and it appears you never read that you need to click the link and enter the code. We sent you two codes just in case, but you now have two codes that do work.

Not really our fault we are providing the codes to you, even if they didn't work, it is not our fault, it is down to you to talk with the people who make the codes. For example Nvidia and they would give you the support on their promotion if you needed it.

We are not the manufacturer, we are the provider, I find it a shame that you feel the need to blame us.

I have to say that all the promotional game codes I've received so far, they require you to go the brands website (i.e. Nvidia / AMD), enter the code, and then you get the full game codes which you then redeem in the respective clients (steam/origin/uplay)..

What exactly did Nvidia do/say when you went to them? :)

You all seem to misunderstand

I was not sent the standard email with instructions, I had to email them first to ask for the code and then was just sent this the code

however even when entered in the correct place (which they eventually told me about) it was still invalid

Which as explained is no fault of ocuk who told you to contact nvidia. Your problem was then fixed. Ocuk's customer service is second to none and they went further to assist you than most retailers would have.

Can't see the issue here pal,

Ocuk supported you by providing a second code which they didn't have to do, told you how to redeem it, even if they didn't, a few seconds on Google would have given you all the direction you needed.

Then when the NVIDIA codes had issues, they sorted it..great cs support from both companies.

Seems you're just miffed because it didn't work straight away but unfortunately, this sometimes happens.

Just be glad it sorted and enjoy your New rig and black flag.

Can't imagine OcUK to send a code over an e-mail with no instructions, always had full details myself.

Further to that I'd have checked on the site the details of the promotion: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/LP/nvidia_aciv.php

Then follow the link which shows how you get the AC game through a qualifying card.

Common sense prevails.

Also, you DO have two codes which you could just sell the other copy when redeemed. I'll happily check them. ;)

Not from ocuk but another retailer
Same happened with my brother with splinter cell blacklist, had 2 codes neither worked wasnt the retailers fault, contacted nvidia who said they had a problem with codes.
They gave my brother metro last light while they investigated then they gave him 2 fully working splinter cells game codes
No blame can be attached to the retailer in this instance

Was there not instructions in the email with the code? I know 1-2 people posted on here before that they haven't had the codes attached to their order properly but they got the email resent similiar to what I copied and pasted above.
