Lets say i'm after a plate that was never released, at least i presume it hasn't aas the DVLA have now knowledge of it on a car nor is it available for sale, then how would i go about getting it made?

The plate i want is three letters followed by three numbers. What kind of cost would i be looking at?

You can request an interest in it by ringing up the DVLA, it will then in next few years be available via the DVLA auctions. When it comes up for auction the DVLA will send you info on the date and time of auction.

I did this for a plate that was never put on a car, took around 3 years for the plate to come to auction and it went for a staggering £4500  My reserve for it was around £500

jeez, thats a bit of a long time to wait isn't it :/. Think i might look for something thats available. For the record, i wanted 'WEZ 130' as i use this nick everywhere.

*EZ is definately being used over here, tho I'm not sure if we've got as far as WEZ yet.

The DVLNI is your best bet.

I wouldn't classify that as a normal plate TBH. Why don't you give the DVLA a call and see what they say.
