Hi, can anyone try an explain how this could have happened? It's confused my dad.

There was a package delivered today with his full name, address, etc on the box. Inside was an old PC game that was in its box (need for speed 2 special edition).

On the back of the package box is a sender address.

Any idea how this could have happened?

Could be an intercept scam, but these normally happen with high value items like phones etc, rather than a very old game.

Does the delivery slip have a recent date on it?

Edit: Forgot to ask the obvious - is the sender a shop? or some random person?

Was it from some sort of business? Is there an invoice of any kind?

If not see if theres any other contact info on the box or in the box for yourself or your dad to get in touch with the sender.

Nevermind, I managed to figure it out. The ebay seller had sold my dad another item that was delivered and he also managed to deliver this game too by mistake, which was meant for another eBay user.

Could be testing to see if they have your Dad's details correct and intending some kind of identity fraud?

I'd wrap it back up and take to the royal mail delivery office with obvious wording that won't get covered/removed stating "unknown at this address".

Probably worth checking with your Dad's bank etc for any strange going ons.

Though simply could be some weird joke?

Maybe you need the Need For Speed 2 Special Edition...

People send stuff randomly.

I'm still trying to find out who sent me this when I broke my shoulder.

I suspect a forumite.
