The wife has decided to have a new carpet in bedroom so me being keen sanded down skirting and door frame - cleaned it all off then got out a old pot of paint - probably 2 years old which we used to paint hall and kitchen. It has been kept inside so it hasn't been in cold or frost.

It is Dulux oil based Once - had the usual brown on top so gave it a good stir and gave skirting a good coat - Now problem - it's still sticky and I painted it Saturday.

This is a problem I have never had before so has anyone any ideas - Am I looking at a paint strip job :mad: - Can I put hair dryer by it to help it dry or will that make it worse

PS not sure but old paint on skirting's might be water based if that makes any difference

Thanks lads - I said to wife this morning I am going to wait till Friday and see - it should dry out at sometime - Rub is I never had problem doing hall but it was a new tin - I also have a new tin in wardrobe but being tight I didn't want to open it till used old one up.:eek:

Won't do that again - in fact I won't ever paint anything again.

A week ago today I painted the skirting and door frame in bedroom - Today it is finally dry.

That will be the last time I ever pick up a paint brush.:D:D
