Morning All,

My trusty 19" Iiyama has given up the ghost so I am looking for suggestions to partner my 24" Dell.

Clearly the obvious choice is another Dell but I'd rather not shell out the nigh on £500 if the truth be known.

Gfx card should not be an issue as am running a GTX470, together with Q6600 and 4gig RAM.

Anything half decent, 20" to 24", and not in a 'glossy' finish would fit the bill. I tend to play games on the Dell and then have either web sites, or another Eve client, open on the secondary as well as Ventrilo etc.

Any suggestions most welcome.

not sat in front of it at the moment unfortunately.

I got it 3 years ago and it was the most up to date 'ultrasharp' of the day.

Ah, could it be the Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP?

If so, that is a 1920x1200 S-PVA panel monitor - a nice bit of kit if I do say so myself.

If you want a second monitor of similar image quality and the same resolution you may want to have a look at the HP ZR24w (here is a review).

Alternatively, you could go for the 1920x1080 Dell Ultrasharp U2311H. This monitor uses an E-IPS panel (like the HP linked to above), but is slightly smaller and lower res than your existing Dell. However, it is also a very nice bit of kit (here is a review).

If you don't want to spend this kind of money you could go for the cheaper E-IPS 21.5in Dell U2211H (review here) or go for this TN panel Samsung B2430H.

thanks for that, i shall investigate your suggestions.

I realise I am not going to get the 1920x1200 of the 24 Dell without paying the money, but to be honest on a secondary monitor I am not too bothered about that and 1920x1080 will be more than enough for my needs.

And yes, the existing Dell I have is lovely :)

Opted for the 23" Dell in the end, following, as closely as possible, the maxim 'if it aint broke dont fix it'; but without the almost £500 price tag.

Very happy with existing Dell monitor but cant really justify 2 of them so this is the next best alternative.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions.
