works everywhere that i have tried it (unless ive gone mad and have been imagining it all ) maestro is to mastercard as visa debit is to visa.

I always use click and buy for steam, have done like 9 transactions by now and never a problem. Direct debit off your account like paypal too...

and I've done ~70 steam transactions with paypal without a problem.

It's irrelevant however, as other people's experiences differ.

Clicknbuy are actually a bit more convenient to use than paypal. Not that it's worth the hassle of setting up an account with an extra company just to save you a few clicks of the mouse/keypresses on steam purchases.

Paypal does suck but it does come in handy in certain situations.

I've bought quite a lot on Steam using Paypal and never had a problem. Hope you get it sorted OP.

Steam support is shockingly bad. I sent them a message after I was sent no serial key for opposing fronts and it asked for one to activate with. I still have no reply and its been at least 3 weeks. In the end I restarted my PC under xp and it worked. Now also works in vista having been activated in xp (good old xp

) so i've fixed it without their help. Doesn't give me a lot of faith in Steam tbh

steam support has been great to me too. Paypal on the other hand think they are fraud detectives and think they have the right to steal sellers money and give it to scammers.

My first experience of PayPal nearly ended up with a disaster. I won't go into too much, the email address was incorrect because I'd used an underscore instead of a full stop, I looked at trying to change it with Paypal but it looked very complicated.

Luckily the email address I'd given wasn't in use so I created it and all worked out in the end.

Update. I started a PayPal dispute after not getting a response from Steam for a week. Guess what? Yep the responded within hours of the dispute opening apologizing and saying they are working on a refund.

All I wanted to do was play Portal.
