My best mate wrote his car off 2 nights ago.

Basically, he swerved to avoid a rabbit, lost control of the car. The back end smashed into a telegraph pole, which then dropped onto 2 other cars. He then spun down the road, and ended up in a river.

It could have been over for him if he'd rolled, as he was in a 306 Cab, with the top down.

So, if a rabbit runs out in front of you, for crying out loud don't try to swerve to avoid it, flatten the ******.

Bumpers are cheap, whole new cars and people aint! Actually new fog lights aint so as long as the blighter doesnt break them i dont mind! :D

Hell no im swerving! Will try to stop if i have chance but otherwise its curtains for the fluffy thing!

sorry but how fast was he going when he performed that 'swerve'?

lots of damage and a long distance travelled it seems!

yeah, must have been doin some. Having said that, could have just been doin 60 on a NSL road and the lil **** ran out at him - slippy road, sharp change in direction and you've got yourself a slide goin.

Yep, the piece of road is an NSL, he says he was doing just under 70 though. The road was also wet.

Friend of mine wrote off a 3 week old lotus esprit avoiding a rabbit some years ago...

After insurance had replaced it, it got to 4 weeks old and the ashtray was full so I asked him if he was going rabbit hunting again

:D

Was this an actual rabbit he actually swerved for or a mystical ninja crash blaming rabbit...
... coated in diesel and on a freakish random patch of black ice caused by global warming?

;)

I hit a rabbit on the way back last night, I try not to swerve for them, but sometimes the humanitarian in me comes out.

Little blighter went under my wheel, I then have to clean up rabbit guts from the wheel arch which was fun.

Not as bad as my sister swerving for a pidgeon :p

I do worry about her sometimes lol.

Glad your mates alright though, a car is a car at the end of the day.

I always flatten rabbits, and cats for that matter.

Obviously I try and brake for the cat, but rabbits aren't even worth braking for...

Swerve out of the way, stop, then get out and take it out with an air rifle.

You saved its life, least it could do is be turned into a pie for you!
