I have had the 9300 nearly 1.5 years now and was thinking by now there must be better phones out there.

My needs are as follows:

1. Most important is to have a proper keyboard like the 9300 as its soo much quicker to type etc.

2. When the phones battery dies I don't loose data, the 9300 doesn't do this but i know that some PDAs do.

3. Calender, Word, Excel, Contacts etc.

4. Camera but not absolutely necessary.

5. A Nice Large screen.

6. Small and light weight, the 9300 isn't bad but it is quite chuncky.

7. And lastly predictive text, as the 9300 doesn't have this which is annoying.

So is there such a phone out there or am I gonna have to wait a while for all this to be in one phone?

the o2 xda exec and its various variants fits all the criteria i believe, except the fact that its quite large and bulky, might be worth looking at.

Ok, will look but as you say if there like the XDAs i have seen before there a bit too bulky and also do these things still loose all the data on them if you let the battery go flat?? Had this on my HP PDA and drove me nuts!!

Windows Mobile 5 devices no longer lose data when the battery goes flat.

XDA Exec is very bulky, but if you don't mind lack of 3G then XDA Mini S is pretty good too and much smaller than the Exec (actually fits in trouser pockets), I found. I think it would fit most of your needs - I suggest checking one out in an O2 store near you.

Another vote for XDA mini S, is rite up your street if you want a small pda phone with keys. Has wifi and Windows mobile 5. Look no further, thats exactly what your looking for, is also not to bad on price either. Never realy understood why this phone hasnt donebetter, I guess most people dont want a keyboard so waited for the JAMin.

Sorry to interupt, just a quick question regarding the 9300i and those that have it, can you confirm a) if the battery that comes with it is already charged? b)if the inside screen has the usual plastic cover over it when new c)was the phone itself in a plastic sleeve, the reason I ask is because i've just taken delivery of what should be a new one and it may well be a refurb.

TIA

easyest way is to do a google for phone talk time (or something like that), there is a code that you plug in that tells you how long the phone has been used.

hope that helps.

That sounds pretty wrong, i don't think i've ever had a fully charged battery with any electrical product when bought new!

Even if it is a refurb, is there anything inherintly wrong with it? Because if not i'd be inclined to keep it, saves time and you still have the same warranty anyway.

thanks for the reply guys, I will definitely try the google search. I pretty much know now however that it is a refurb, there are some marks around the internal screen and whoeever had it left old sms messages on it. So it's definitely going back, wouldn't mind if it was a cheaper handset but why risk it when the order was for a new phone so i may as well get a new phone. Like you said the battery was the first indication as they are never charged, thanks again guys.
