With the reduction in the energy cost of obtaining hydrogen and the energy saving in sewage treatment, this might be viable. It might also be possible to reduce transportation problems if this is more viable at home due to the lower energy requirements.

sounds like a good way of producing small amounts of hydrogen from large amounts of urine.
but unless we can all pipe our urine direct to a major processing plant (without diluting it) then this will never be a viable way of producing hydrogen.

also the major constituent of urine is water. not urea as suggested in the article.
