My computer is on generally all the time. Recently while I am using the computer the screen res drops from 1280x1024 to something like 640x320 and sometimes I even loose mouse control! It is really annoying and I am forced to switch the computer off.

Does anybody know what could be causing this problem?

Mike

Can't see losing mouse control bit has anything to do with graphics card....but haven't got any idea on what would be causing such a thing...

Yes, this is VERY VERY weird..

Ye I know. But it is definately happening! It has happened 3 times now on totally seperate occasions. Once when I was on WMP, Second when I was image editing and the third while programming a website. It is a really annoying problem!

Does anybody have an idea what could be causing it? (eg, GFX, monitor, Ram, Cpu?!?!)

For me, I think losing mouse control and random resolution changes are too separate 'glitches' to be caused by a single component......I would look at the OS installation, on these grounds.......

kk thanx. I am actually really confused by it! Actually those errors have only occured in windows. I dual boot linux and linux seems fine.
