I was wondering, what will happen in the AMD Nvidia wars now both the Xbox One and PS4 are pure AMD? Will games be AMD optimized by default? Will this affect PC graphics cards and PC gaming?

What are your thoughts?

Probably not, AMD work with the console makers to provide chip designs they want. The relationship typically ends there, Sony and Microsoft do most of the work in how developers access that hardware.

The fear is that the developers usually optimise for the new consoles and then do a quick PC port. The console devs are programming on GCN based hardware and will optimise to get the best out of GCN. How many of them do you think will waste time optimising for other architectures?

Honestly, I'm not sure it will be that big a problem. Time will tell.
