a question about clock multipliers...

i havent had a chip whose multiplier can be changed for a long time now and im wondering if im missing something ???

first i had a 2800XP that i couldnt alter the multiplier on,
then i got an Asrock 939 and an A3000+ Venice core which i couldnt alter the mutiplier on,
now i have an opty 146 but still i cant change the multiplier ??? should i be able to ? is it hit and miss ? or are they normally just locked these days...

You should still be able to change the multi downwards though

i wish, its not shifting anywhere i dont think i ever will hit that magic 3Ghz
