As we all know that video games are developed on PC. I was reading that when Crysis first came out in 2007 people had trouble running the game even with good graphics card at that time. So how did crytek managed to render such a gpu intensive game which also requires quite a lot of cpu processing power aswell ? What graphics card they must have used to render the game so beautifully?

They could have loaded up the game with max graphics, but the FPS would just have been very low.

That, or they could have pre-rendered things if they wanted to show off the graphics and not performance.

They most likely would have been utilising a server cluster to gain the processing power.

Also utilising parallell processing for VGA power.

More power than most of us could imagine in our home PC.

They would have been playing on Full resolution, full detail.

I'm not sure they had any particular graphics card in mind, the game had a purpose looking like nothing else available on the PC and as a result pushing the PC platform to its limits and beyond.
