Was it funny?

Should I have watched more than a couple of episodes before judging or was I right to turn over? I think the main problem was that I just couldn't find anything original and hense the vast majority of jokes were tired.

I enjoy British scifi but this was awful. Perhaps it's simply a case of whether you prefer blondes to reheads or Stella to Guinness?

There were funny bits in it but not enough. I probably only belly laughed about three or four times through the whole series, although the rest was fairly amusing. I'll watch anything with Nick Frost in it though - he's just a generally amusing chap. :D

It was a bit ambitious trying to introduce that many characters in 6 1/2 hour shows.
The round the Universe yaughtswoman one with Sally Phillips stood out.

'Mr Yorke, set lasers to patriotic.'

Yeah, that was a good one. My favourite line from the series was when the normally quite mousey lead female character was reeling off insults.

"Why don't you go home and help your mother make a bitch pie?!"
"That was a good one."
"Thanks."

I wanted it to be good but lik OP was undecided, having said that id I watch the first 2 series of Red Dwarf (Surely what Hyperdrive is aiming to replace) they seem dated and not as funny as when I was at school. Sitcom dates so quickly.
