A question about IPv6 and Home switches

Hi, I'm thinking about buying a gigabit switch for my home network and am aware that there is a current migration from IPv4 to IPv6 (god knows when my IPS will do it)

Will any swiches on the market natively support IPv6? Do switches even care what IP version is used?

Consumer switches don't care what IP addressing you use. A managed switch would though.

All switches and hubs support switching/repeating IPv6 packets, since IPv6 is built on top of layer 2, which is all switches care about (all is different is ethernet frame type 86DD rather than 0800).

The management interface (on managed switches) is a different kettle of fish - some do, some dont.
