I have a dell inspiron 8200 laptop with a Geforce4 440 Go 32mb graphics card onboard. I also have a flat screen monitor that I want to display whatever is on my laptop's screen at the same time. I.E. both screens would display the same as each other. I've been using a vga cable and trying to change the display options to make this happen but I just can't seem to be able to this to work. All I seem to be able to do is to make the flat screen monitor an extension of the laptop's. Could anyone please tell me what I should do?

Thanks.

In Windows there should be a check box in the display settings where you set resolution that says something top the effect of "extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"

Uncheck it. Failing that you can install ultramon which should solve it as well.

Thanks for the reply. Unchecking that box just turns the flat screen monitor off all togther  . I'll give ultramon a look too though.
