A question about Phd's and Eng Doc's

Sorry to drag up such an extremely old thread!

I'm coming towards the end of my EngD, which I've enjoyed immensely.

Would anyone who's finished an EngD and then got a job, in academia or industry, whether engineering or not, mind disclosing their starting salary?

How did it turn out OP? Worth the while? (is the salary uplift from a PhD significant?)

After my MEng I could never be bothered with further study! Hnng

I won't be specific on a public forum but I finished my EngD in 2013 and was on high/mid 30s. I moved companies a couple year later after getting chartered and now over 60.

Materials science. I'm consultant engineer now based in London.
