RepairTech?

Hey guys, hope this is in the right area. :)

So, about two weeks ago I ordered a benQ 2420HD from OCUK. After unboxing it and turning it on there is a sort of dent/mark on the centre of the monitor that is really distracting and looks like a thumb shape. I've tried cleaning the screen with monster cleaning solution and micro fibre and the damage is inside the screen.. I sent a Web Note to OCUK and they told me to contact BenQ wich I did..

However BenQ want to use RepairTech to take a look at the monitor.. RepairTech are infamous for returning multiple faulty units, keeping the monitor for ages, and just being a pain to deal with.

So, should I just live with this horrible dent on the monitor or send it out to RepairTech who will likely send me another faulty unit? Kind of stuck on what to do -.-

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

Return it to OCUK under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 on the basis that it isn't of satisfactory quality.

Under sale of goods act, the seller is responsible for putting things right not the manufacturer. That said you often can get a quicker response from the manufacturer, but if repairtech is involved, it is unlikely that this will be the case in this instance.

You can also return mail order/online order goods for any reason within 7 days of delivery under the distance selling regulations. This may no longer apply in your case if you received it two weeks ago. Although if your webnote was within 7 days of delivery, then you may also have a case that the webnote was a rejection of the delivered monitor and should have been treated as such under the distance selling regulations.
